Built in 1891, as a home for the Western Montana newspaper; converted into a speakeasy during prohibition; decorated in plush red tones as The Flame lounge during the mid-20th century; fondly remembered as Jay’s Bar for a handful of decades following; and finally renovated and reopened as today’s Downtown Dance Collective, this gorgeous and richly historic building is just the venue for which you have been searching!
The DDC is located in in the heART of miSOULa right across from Central Park Garage. Parking on the street is $1.00 an hour and the first hour is free if you park in the garage, and we give you a validation ticket for your second hour. Just ask!
We can accommodate anything from a wedding to a birthday, a retirement to a wedding or baby shower! We have chairs, tables, table cloths, and many items to make your next event easy.
Studio A (pictured right) is 1,500 square feet equipped with velvet curtains, a surround sound stereo system, and numerous lighting options. Beautifully finished sprung hard wood floors and 120 year old Missoula brick, this space is easily transformed into a formal setting. The DDC proudly displays local artists’ work in this studio that is changed every other month to keep it vibrant and interesting for clients and renters.
The slightly more humble Studio B (pictured above). is a well lit studio boasting 240 Square feet of durable marly flooring. This space has direct access to studio A though large double doors and our kitchenette.
