Photographs by Suzette Dussault
Suzette’s unique eye captures the joy and wonder of an observant life. This exhibit features photographs from locations as far flung as Missoula, MT, to Paris, France. Suzette shares tiny tragedies and victories in a way that can only be expressed as innately human.
J’ai de la chance! I am lucky! I have had the chance not only to travel, but to live in France. Joie de vivre! While there, I was struck by how similar the French countryside (le paysage) is to my native Montana. (Can you tell that you are in France and not on the plains or in the valleys of our Montana?) I was struck by the architecture, the French ability to build new while preserving the old. And I was entranced by the French people. J’aime bien les Français! I now understand my propensity for good food, for gardens, for architecture, for literature, for les fleurs et les jardins, and for all things beautiful. Et, excusez-moi, for my proclivity to talk, to discuss everything in depth, in detail, and at great length! And all things politic! Je suis désolée, it’s in my blood. I hope that you enjoy my reflections of/on France and our Montana. And the stories.
Come see Suzette’s work at the Downtown Dance Collective, 121 W. Main St., Missoula, MT, 59802, during October and November of 2016!
Please note: there will be no First Friday opening in November, but Suzette’s photographs will still be displayed!
